The next exhibition at ArtSoko celebrates the launch of Clementina’s exciting new range of cortado coffee cups on Saturday, 5th October 2024 together with work by various artists with artwork, both functional and two dimensional, related to anything coffee.
It is well known that the fuel that keeps many an artist going is coffee.
The history of coffee traces back to the ancient coffee forests of Ethiopia. Legend says a goat herder named Kaldi discovered coffee when his goats became energetic after eating coffee berries. This energizing effect led to coffee’s spread to the Arabian Peninsula in the 15th century, where it was cultivated and traded. By the 16th century, coffee reached Persia, Egypt, and the Ottoman Empire. European travellers brought coffee back to Europe in the 17th century, sparking widespread popularity. Coffeehouses became cultural hubs, influencing art, literature, and politics. Today, coffee is a global commodity, enjoyed by millions .
The exhibition will run for 3 weeks , from Saturday 5th October to Saturday 26th October 2024.
